Hifonics Hfi2000d 2,000 Watt RMS Mono Block Amplifier Review

When you are looking to get a new in-car amplifier there are a number of factors to consider before reaching your final choice. Of course top of the list has to be sound quality, but then there is always going to be a trade-off between sound quality and price. With amplifiers you can always find more expensive units, but oftentimes you will find that a more affordable unit will do just as well.

Another factor that you may not be aware of with amplifiers in a car is the amount of heat that they give off. You will find that many of these units, especially at the lower end of the price spectrum, suffer from excessive heat when in operation.

This is one of the key differences with the Hifonics HFI200D because it has an in-built heat dissipation feature that ensures that the unit doesn’t overheat.  This is particularly important in a car, because by its very nature a car is an enclosed space, and if you end up buying a unit that does get hot, then you could find yourself having to have the windows open more then you might want, in order to cool the space down. Not ideal!

The heat sink on the Hifonics HFI2000D has a new design that means that you can get high power, but without the accompanying heat.  The unit has a PCB Board with a modulated power supply, and adjustable bass boost.

The unit has a retro feel to it that honestly you will either love or hate! So be sure to have a close look at pictures of the unit before you settle down to finally buy one.

The Hifonics has protective circuitry, and silver-nickel plated RCA inputs that make sure that the sound from the unit is as clear as possible, and also that it has a great frequency response.

Also, for the price range of this product, the wattage output is truly exceptional at 2000 watts.

Before we take a look at what other users of the Hifonics HFI2000D have made of the unit, let’s take a look at some of the technical specifications so that you can see exactly what you are getting.
