Alpine MRP-M1000 Mono Power Amplifier Review

If you are in the middle of a car accessory buying spree then one of the best things you can consider getting is a new car amplifier. Pumping up the music is not only cathartic, but it is now cheaper then ever before, and the quality of the amps that you can get for your money is much improved.

One amp that bridges the gap between a beginner rig setup and a more advanced setup is the Alpine MRPM-1000 which is a digital class amplifier with thermal management control and a MOSFET Power supply.

It offers STAR circuitry and gold plated RCA Output input connectors that ensure better connections and a smoother sound.

This is the perfect intermediate amp for someone looking to get a better in car audio experience who has already taken the first tentative steps into getting an amplifier, but who wants to experiment with a better rig.

Typically a starter amp might offer 600 watts of music power, whilst the Alpine MRPM10000 offers a whole 1000 watts of pumping base.

One of the main reasons that you would consider buying this amp is precisely because you like your music loud, and want it even louder!

One of the good things about Alpine Amps is that they tend to be quite polished in terms of the controls and are quite easy to both adjust and hook up.

The light on the unit looks good when its powered up, and because of the extra ampage the unit doesn’t have to be turned up full-blast to get a really big effect in your car.

One little niggle that some users have pointed out is that the unit may benefit from the addition of fans as it does generate a fair bit of heat.

In practice this tends to be a re-occuring theme with most amps, but most users don’t tend to find it a problem. In fact, several commented that this amp generated LESS heat then their previous models.

You simply have to make sure that your amp is well ventilated when you set it up in the car.

Another way that people solved this problem was to get a second battery, so you may want to consider doing that if you buy this amp.

This is easier then it sounds though, so don’t panic! Just follow the installation instructions to the letter, and you will be fine.
